My Skin Journey–

I’ve never been the girl that had perfect skin. In fact, it’s been quite the opposite my whole life. I went through your typical teenage acne years– trying every product under the sun, religiously lathering on the benzoyl peroxide creams, and truly never being confident in my own skin. Then came the college and adult years when I thought I would just age out of my skin issues and boy was I wrong about that! I went on hormonal birth control for about a year with all of the side effects unbeknownst to me. After I came off the pill, my skin was not. happy. It was the worst it had ever been in my entire life. My hormones were all out of whack and I was trying to balance my skin with the same methods I had always used. I finally decided that I had enough and I was going to take a holistic approach to healing my skin once and for all. I started cleaning up my diet, stopped using harsh chemicals in my home and on my body, and I made the switch to nontoxic skincare and never looked back! It’s been quite the journey and it definitely didn’t happen overnight, but my skin is finally in a place that I’m happy with and it is truly the healthiest it’s ever been! I am so thankful for products with real ingredients that produce real results and they are actually safe to use.

In a world where the beauty industry bombards us with an overwhelming amount of products and promises, achieving glowy & healthy skin can feel like impossible. But what if I told you that you can get radiant skin without using harsh chemicals and complicated routines?

Welcome to my 7-minute non-toxic skincare routine that I swear by– a holistic approach that prioritizes your skin’s well-being while delivering stunning results. I say 7 minute because it’s more than 5 but less than 10. It’s not complicated, but it’s super effective. Consistency is key!

Oil Cleanser.

If you haven’t tried oil cleansing for your skin, you’re seriously missing out! This method of cleansing my face has seriously changed the game for my acne. It seems a little counterintuitive at first, as most of the time we associate oil with acne. But it’s actually one of the best ways to balance your skin’s natural oil production! Oil cleansing it based on the principle that like dissolves like, so it breaks down dirt and impurities (and yes, all your makeup) and then you wipe it away clean with a warm washcloth. The fact that it feels like you’re at the spa is just an added bonus! This is my favorite oil cleanser because it has the perfect mixture of skin-loving oils and it smells amazing. I only cleanse my face once a day, in the evening. In the morning I just splash my face with cold water and proceed with the following steps!

Toner.

The next important step in my skincare routine, a toner! It’s a must for restoring your skins natural PH after cleansing. At night, I use this AHA toner to help with discoloration and acne scarring. In the morning, I use this Everything Spray which has essential oils in it that help fight acne-causing bacteria and other ingredients that soothe the skin.

Facial Mist.

This step seems a little extra, but it’s the one that really sets my skincare routine over the top for me! My skin is super tight after I tone, so giving it a little spritz with one of the Primally Pure mists really helps prep my skin for my serums and moisturizers. It helps to really soften the skin and pores to help my serums penetrate deeper into the skin for maximum effectiveness.

Serums/Moisturizers.

This is where the magic happens. Using a high quality serum or moisturizer that is packed with skin-loving ingredients is essential for healthy, glowing skin! This clarifying serum is one that is in my regular rotation because it has ingredients that work wonders against acne. Another one that I like to throw in the mix is the plumping serum to fight signs of aging and get that dewy glow. Both serums are so potent and a little bit goes a long way. These are my holy grails! In the colder months when my skin tends to be a little drier, I throw in a tallow-based moisturizer like this antioxidant balm or clarifying cream. Do NOT sleep on beef tallow for your skin. I’ve been using it for years and I can confirm that the results speak for themselves.

Eye Cream.

The Primally Pure Baby Balm is truly a catch all moisturizer and I loveeee using it under my eyes at night. There’s no essential oils in it so it’s gently enough to use in sensitive areas like under your eyes! This stuff is also great if you just want a basic all-over moisturizer.

Gua Sha.

I don’t do this every night, but if I’ve got the energy and a couple extra minutes, I’ll sneak in a little gua sha facial massage to help release tension in my face and promote lymphatic drainage.
